I'm glad you like them, We were going back to France after 3 weeks holiday with mother in wiltshire.

We are big MG Rover fans, we were in the 75 when the photos were taken.

Back home in France we have 2 x TFs, 1 x ZR, 1 x Rover 25. (and the 75)

Did any of you have any problems with the cars during the visit ?

What was the reason for coming over in 4 different Fs ? to show off ?

Problems? Not very much, Michael N. had a weld on his back box go, causing the right pipe to settle down on the rear bumper (without any extra damage there luckily), and I seem to have another source of coolant loss from the expansion tank, where the hose is fitted. Well, she isn’t called Mrs Peebody without reason

We had a great (and sunny!) week in England from Tuesday until Sunday, roaming the country lanes of Kent, Sussex, Hants, Berks and Oxon for a couple of days.

Whereabouts in France are you?

I saw on the internet about the 20 years of MG F but didn't think to look up if there was anything going on otherwise we probably would have poped along.

I was hoping to bump into you all at the tunnel but I must admit i bombed it down to folkstone, made it in record time, was worried about all the delays and the M20 etc.

Another question, how did you guys manage to get "MG" in your registration number ?

In Austria you can order a "wish-registration-number", costs a bit of money...

That is equivalent in Germany. You visit the internetsite of the town or county (at least in my case ) and navigate to a site, where the possible registration numbers are listed. There You can choose a suitable one and reserve it under Your name. And yes, You pay for this service.

Exactly, and it's only 12.60 Euros in excess! You have to stick with the prefix though, as that's the acronym of the district you live in. Only the letters after the stickers and the numbers can be chosen (almost) freely, if available.

Ant then there are nutjobs like me, wo "move" to Mönchengladbach (with the convenient prefix "MG") for two days, register the car there and then "move back" again. In that case (if you keep the car), the plates can be taken across district borders now. This way my other car got its registration "MG-TF8".

Sadly the French don't do cherished plates, afaik.

As to the language question: Simply go on posting in English here, no probs at all. Maybe in the International section, if you like. Also, I'd advise you to pay the MGCC UK's MGF register forum a visit, (http://www.mgfregister.org/forum/), some of us are active over there as well. They even have some expats living in France posting. There also is a French forum (http://www2.mgcontact.eu/phpBB2/), but this is for all types of MGs (modernes et anciennes), so the F and TF community is a minority.
