The 15-years-rule was the main reason I brought my BMW back to Germany.
The car entered Canada at the age of 14 years and a few months...

I had a quote for shipping a car in a container. Forget it... way too expensive. I remember it was more than the purchase price of my Beamer.

The cheapest way to get a car over the atlantic ocean is Roll-On-Roll-Off (Ro-Ro) which is basically like a "normal" ferry.
It was around 700 EUR from Bremerhaven/Germany to Halifax/Nova Scotia.
