Quo Vadis MG? Where are your sports cars gone? E-cars are definitely NO sports cars |

Peter B hat geschrieben: …? E-cars are definitely NO sports cars Are You shure? I had the chance to drive a Tesla S 85 D for a while. Compared to my MG TF: Engine power (AWD): 376 PS; miles ahead. Acceleration: 0-60 m/h: 4,7 sec; miles ahead. Top speed: just over 150 m/h; miles ahead. Handling on the road and top speed around bends? Miles ahead. Power consumption: about 18 kWh/100 km. Considering the fact that 1 liter of petrol has 9,4 kWh, this equals just under 2 liters of petrol. And the low noise is wonderful (at least for me with hearing aids). And taking into account that the weight is about 900 kg higher this is simply amazing. Yes, buying one will cost You quite a lot, but You can buy a used one, and You will save on taxes, service, repairs, and fuel. Your turn. (Nu kommst Du.) |

In this regards I think more like Walter Röhrl E-Cars are a good alternative, maybe the best alternative for driving in cities, urban areas, but they will never be an option for a sports car driver who has the focus on a light, agile car with lots of power, power for more than one lap ( ) and - definitely very important - true sound of a combustion engine and NOT a sound generator Sure is a E-Car like Formula E or others like some Teslas or other models coming up currently also fast and you can achieve one, two good lap times, but as I said - not for a race distance and for people who have experienced really true sports cars like Porsche 911, Ferraris, Lambo, McLaren, Ford GT etc. the sound of an electric car is horrible compared to an petrol engine. Only a Porsche 918 Spyder for example - a hybrid - can provide sports car attributes AND electric power in the same car Just my 2 cents. If MG wants to stay a sports car company then they would have to develop a car like MX-5 or Lotus Elise - light, agile and with a petrol engine |

Nope. Loud is out. Wer's laut haben will, soll sich Ohrstöpsel mit Motorgeräusch reinstecken, aber die anderen in Ruhe lassen. |

Tesla has even more on offer: Tesla Model S P100D. 762hp and 2.5 sec from 0 to 100kph And if you want a real sports car, try Tesla´s first production model. The Lotus based Tesla Roadster. For me a sports car has to have two seats and proper roadholding and needs to be small and fast. I do not care about the mode of propulsion as long as the car is fun to drive. |
