Hello to the ladies and gentlemen of this forum,

While I am not new to the MGTF, I am definitely new to the motoring life in Germany. I would like to also thank Christian Nbl for the recommendation of this site. My first language is English although I can and do know some German.
I currently have a UK-registered MG TF Sprint which I am hoping to bring into Germany; the car is of course right hand drive.

I wonder if anyone has any experience bringing cars in from other countries? Will it be cheaper to drive the car all the way from the UK or will it be better to hire a transporter?

Jeder Rat oder Vorschläge willkommen.

Mit freundlichen Grüße
Wil

Hi Wil,

welcome on board and in Germany.

With your move its as usual a depends on...
I would drive myself. But if you start far from the north and the target would be south east Bavaria it will be a very long ride.
This thread may be of interest if the car should get registered here

Hello Dieter, thanks for your response. Unfortunately, there is some truth in that joke.   I spent 2 years of my time in Birmingham, just 5 miles (8 km since we use metric units) away from Longbridge (where they made our cars). Now though, I find myself in the capital of Bavaria (München); due the Brits not really keen on keeping me. So technically, I've indeed performed a Brexit.

I will definitely have a good read on the thread.

Hi Wil,

nice to see, you made it here ;).

If you‘re looking for a possibility for a transport, I can recommend this page:

https://www.shiply.com

On the other hand, I‘d always Drive the car myself. Like this, you can get to know some more of Germany

Cheers

Christian (Nbl) ;)
